On Saturday, March 18th, Billy Stewart became the thirty-third player in Major League Rugby to appear in 50 matches.
Billy Stewart (Gold #24) began playing Rugby as Freshman in high school while attending Bishop Hendricken High School in Warwick, Rhode Island. He chose to attend Tulane University, where he continued playing Rugby. During the Summer following his sophomore year, he joined NORFC for Summer 7s. The Summer after graduating from Tulane in 2016, he helped lead NORFC on a run to USA Club 7s nationals.

In 2018 he was one of the first local players to sign with NOLA Gold and would appear in two matches the first MLR season. Following the 2019 season, he was selected to the USA Rugby South Panthers to play against the Cayman Islands.
To date, in his MLR career, he has scored 3 tries, made 268 ball carries, has 1,535 meters run, made 379 tackles, 590 ruck arrivals, 86 lineout takes, and 7 lineout steals.

Major League Rugby is honoring the first 50 players to reach 50 caps and their role in building the legacy of MLR. The latest of the first thirty-three players to accomplish 50 caps for MLR includes Pat O’Toole of NOLA Gold, Josh Larsen and Andrew Quattrin of the New England Free Jacks.
